The Christmas Chicken Chase is a fun 10km run bringing everyone in the capital together for one final, fun filled run to close out the 2026 season. This race does not involve literal chasing of chickens, not at all. It is just a metaphor for how Christmas is celebrated in Nigeria.
No, people will not be chasing real chickens. It is a normal race where runners run a 10km distance. It is named “Christmas Chicken Chase” because chickens are a classic part of Nigerian Christmas celebrations and that adds a fun, memorable and uniquely Nigerian twist to the race.
The prizes. The first 3 people to complete the race in both male and female categories will go home with live, well fed chickens, along side finishers medals.
Yes. Every registered participant who completes the 10km gets a beautiful finisher’s medal.

No. We will not have virtual runs for this edition. However, we would consider that in subsequent editions of the event.
